Physiotherapy for back pain

Back pain is sadly a fact of life, our species has only recently (evolutionarily speaking) moved from a 4 legged gait to walking upright. But this doesn’t mean suffering from back pain is a foregone conclusion.

One of the most common concerns of Patients with back pain is having abnormal findings upon imaging of their spine.

Finding of structural defects upon spinal imaging is normal. Whenever research is done on imaging spines of people without back pain, large segments of the population are found to have things that are picked up on X-Rays and MRI’s without realising it. This means that a sizeable portion of the population have “wear and tear” on facet joints, disc degeneration, protrusion, spinal canal narrowing without pain or other symptoms.

Spinal surgery is a profitable treatment pathway with variable and inconsistent results if pain alone is the only factor. And it may not be required to solve your back pain.

Our back pain Physiotherapy pathway is designed to provide effective relief through strengthening your supporting back musculature allowing them to perform their role of supporting the spine more effectively. This is the anatomical function of trunk and spine musculature.

Even for long-term back pain, we expect to see results from treatment within 5 to 6 sessions of a quality strengthening program.  It doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive to get out of pain; we focus on delivering straightforward, effective care.

Take the first step towards a pain-free life today.
